We also had the covered with toothpaste problem in our kid's bathroom and this product seemed Ideal, and to be honest the touch'n'brush did actually help keep the sinks reasonably clear.
This is not to say the dispenser itself stayed clean for long. We have to clean off excess toothpaste (put there by my adorable children) from the push bar daily and if we miss a day we regret it. Cleaning is made harder because my one of my children managed to break the little plastic "axles" off the push bar, so I had to drill it and fit screws.

In all the product does what it claimed to do. The only thing I would suggest to the makers is make the only moving part at least 500% more robust
