This is a rip off! We ordered Yoshiblade item number YB-2000R for $39.97. Then they charged $27.96 for shipping handling. Unbelieveable! They don’t state the amount of shipping and handling charges in their advertisements. I feel like contacting the Cusumer Fraud Division of Interstate Commerece for their fraudulant or misleading advertising!

tv add did notcovince me. in the cucumber test,with the steel knife you did not
go all the way to the table the yoshi knife the blade hit the table. with the bread
and meat they both went back and forth with the knife,a sharp knife wold go throu
smoutley with out moving the main pice you cut. let me now if i am wrong,I did want
one of your knifes

Charline, there is a huge misconception about HARD and STRONG. I have been a jeweler for 16yrs and i hear this one ALL the time. Here goes, diamonds are HARD but not strong. This is because of their molecular make up. Diamonds have a very weak molecular bond, thus making them very susceptible to breaking, especially any diamond with corners, i.e. princess, marquis, trillions. A diamonds molecular make up is VERY hard though. For example, Silly Putty is VERY VERY strong, it just keeps on stretching, however, Silly Putty is obviously not very hard at all. See my point?
The commercial uses a little trickery to make you think that because its as hard as a diamond that it is strong. Oddly enough im a HUGE knife collector, and lemme tell ya, the worst knife you could ever have is one made of diamond. it will shatter the first time you strike something with it, bends the wrong way or something that places stress on the molecular bonds. Ceramic knives are indeed incredible for kitchen uses, but they are best used on items that don’t require a chopping motion. Ceramic knives main use is a slicing motion and thats really it. Your blade probably broke because stress was placed on the tip somehow, this is the most common breakage a steel knife will recieve, next to chips in the cutting edge.
Id still recommend any ceramic knife, but ive heard bad reviews about how the parts of the Yoshiblade are married together, sounds kinda ghetto.
If you want a great ceramic knife, id really suggest a kyocera blade for overall quality, but dont get me wrong, a Yoshiblade is made from the same ceramic as a kyocera and cuts just the same. So, try a Yoshi again. If your money strapped it beats paying the hundreds a kyocera could cost, and a kyocera is just as easily broken as a Yoshi.

Will not even cut the palm of my hand!!

Tested against my carbon steel & stainless knives: no comparison. This is a sales scam!

Carbon & stainless cuts much thinner & easier than this blade. Comparisons with potatos, tomatos & lettuce, show no comparison. I’m not going to test on meat as it own’t even cut my hand when I try.

We love the Yoshi Knives we bought 6-8 months ago – haven’t tried the peelers yet.

However, need to ask a question, since the blades are supposed to be SOOO strong, next to diamond, why has the tip of one of our knives broken off? We are ever so careful with them, as I’m soooo afraid that I’ll cut myself. I looked over the warranty and nothing is mentioned about that. Would like to send it back in exchange, but it does seem that the shipping is rather expensive – what can I do? Suck up the $ and send it back with explanation?

What a piece of junk! The plastic handle has a knob that extends below the edge of the blade, so cutting flat or chopping is out of the question. Cheap thing chipped while cutting an onion. Threw it away. I don’t need razor sharp bits of a Yoshi knife in my salad. The peeler went in the trash with the knife. It is totally useless.

I recently purchased the blade sets (4 knives and 4 peelers) from this company’s website. I was angered by the excessive shipping ($34) while the order was for $33.00. I contacted their customer service and got nowhere. Also, unlike most sites, once I confirmed to buy the two sets they would not let me alter my order. Beware about the shipping from this company.

haven’t used my new yoshi blades – have to be sure all my wits are about me because it is obviously so sharp.

Inquiry: have you received any reports about your website being hacked? A few days after I ordered the knives, I received a phone call from a woman “thanking me for ordering the Yoshi knives”. She went on to ask for verification of my address, credit card number (which she already had the first and last numbers for) and other information which I was reluctant to offer. Have to admit the call blindsided me and should have remembered that you had already sent an invoice of verification – but she was smooth and I was off guard. Wonder if a warning should be posted, or if this was an isolated case.
